Brokers / Trading Members

Brokers act as crucial intermediaries in the investment process. They execute trades on behalf of FPIs on exchanges such as the NSE and BSE, generate contract notes, and ensure real-time compliance with trading rules. They also guide FPIs on operational matters, risk limits, and market access. Post-trade, custodians settle transactions, hold securities, and monitor compliance with sectoral limits for foreign investment.

For opening the trading account of an FPI, the brokers can rely on the KYC documentation already submitted by the FPI to the DDP/Custodian at the time of registration/KYC. Apart from the above, the brokers may seek additional documentation for conducting enhanced due diligence as per their internal policies.
